Product Manager
The interview process was very professional and detailed, featuring several problem-solving and personality tests. The hiring team was responsive and pleasant to interact with, making it a very positive experience. They were consistently available to answer questions.
- What are your methods for discovering new product ideas?
Web Strategist
This took over 3 months. I completed 2 personality assessments and a Wonderlik IQ test. There were 6 interviews in total: HR, Marketing (twice), IT, and the CEO (twice). For one of the CEO interviews, I was given a laptop with their analytics open and an hour to prepare and present a Web Strategy. The CEO who interviewed me seemed very resistant to spending money on digital initiatives. Based on Glassdoor reviews, I anticipate micromanagement. I could tell the leadership team would be arrogantly naive, expecting significant results with minimal investment, and would challenge every decision. Their digital capabilities are very basic, but the CEO acts like a digital expert.
- What is your motivation for being here?
- Can you define what Web Strategy entails?
Product Development
We started with a phone call, then there was an in-person interview that included personality and cognitive tests. They got back to me pretty quickly because they always have a lot of openings. It's tough to negotiate salary, but you can make some progress.
- Describe the steps to make a peanut butter sandwich.
Sales Manager
This was a really drawn-out interview process, taking over two months and including six interviews. Two of those interviews were in-person and required over an hour of travel. There were also two assessments and a presentation about their current clients and how I'd build a marketing plan for them. In the end, I just got an automated rejection email. I even tried following up with the hiring manager and CEO for feedback on why I wasn't selected, but never heard back. It felt like a company that says 'we care for our employees' but doesn't show it once you're not their choice.
- Given a 5-page report detailing the past 3 years of sales for over 26 clients, construct a plan based on this information.
