It was a long and tiring process. The panel interview was particularly tricky because it was an all-or-nothing situation. If even one person on the panel didn't think I was a good fit to move forward, then I didn't move forward, instead of it being a majority vote.

The recruiter was super fast and got right to it, then passed me to the hiring manager. The hiring manager was a little late for our video call and asked for a few more minutes to wrap something up. Once we started, it was just a rapid-fire list of questions, no intro or discussion about the actual role. I tried to make it more conversational, but they kept cutting me off with more questions. It felt like the hiring manager was distracted, looking elsewhere on the screen and clearly doing other things while I was talking. The interview wrapped up after I asked my questions, right on time. I later checked the hiring manager's profile and noticed they had less experience, GCP knowledge, and education than me. I got the rejection email the very next day.

Case Behavioral Other

This was for a non-technical program manager role, focusing on a specific customer segment's Go-To-Market Strategy & Operations team. There were 3 rounds in total. One round was with the skip-level manager, and the other two were with leaders of cross-functional teams I'd be collaborating with. I didn't interview with the hiring manager directly since she already knew me and was the one recruiting me for the position.
