Data Scientist
I had a hiring assessment quiz first. Then there were two rounds, each with five interviews. I didn't pass the first round. Both rounds had two case study-type questions. The first was on applied stats and the second was on data intuition. I got rejected because my performance was "mixed" in the applied statistics interview. They did say I did well in the data intuition interview, which involved things like reading graphs, charts, and tables, figuring out what they meant, talking about what to do next experiment-wise, and other data science ideas based on the visuals.

Data Scientist
Different layers need different learning rates because lower layers contain stable coding fundamentals that shouldn’t change much, while upper layers hold task-specific logic that must adapt quickly to the new problem.
- Can you explain why varying learning rates are necessary for different layers in a model?
- What is the reasoning behind stable coding fundamentals in lower layers?
- How do upper layers adapt to new problems with task-specific logic?
Data Scientist
Before the interview, you should research the company, get your intro ready, and think about answers to questions. During the interview, be positive, make eye contact, and give a firm handshake. At the end, ask questions about the role to show interest. After it's all done, send a thank you note.
