First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Good Samaritan.
Director of Nursing
I went through a few phone interviews first, and then there was the online application. After that, I had an in-person interview with the Administrator and the Director of Human Resources. Since I was coming from out of town, the Administrator was nice enough to offer a virtual interview with the HR Director. But I was really excited about the job and wanted to see the area, so I made the trip from several states away to meet them face-to-face. The interview felt right and professional. I felt good about it the whole time and knew this was the right place for me.
- What makes you want to join the Good Samaritan Society?
- Have you faced any accusations of elder abuse or neglect?
- Can you share an instance where you provided care beyond the standard requirements for a resident, their family, or a colleague?
Housekeeper
I found the job opening on my university's website and applied online. About a day after applying, I got a call back and was invited for an interview. The whole process was really straightforward and quick. The interview itself was super easy; it felt more like the interviewer was just explaining the job duties rather than asking me a bunch of questions. I think they only asked me about 2 real questions. The rest of the time was spent chatting or me asking them stuff about the job. I thought it was a bit weird for an interview, but hey, being a housekeeper isn't brain surgery, and I wasn't complaining about not having to stress over tough questions! The vibe was pretty chill, and everyone seemed friendly.
- Were there any difficult or unexpected questions during the interview?
Marketing Analyst
I was told that only current employees of the Society that had marketing experience need only apply. I came from a business accounting division. I had inquired if teleworkers were allowed, and the answer was no. I was aware that some of the marketers were allowed to work out of their homes, so perhaps they hiring supervisor did not want to hire additional teleworkers.
- Do you have any marketing experience within the Society?
- Do you have any marketing experience from previous roles outside of the Society?
Certified Nursing Assistant
I met with the local department managers who asked me some set questions. They showed me around the building and explained what the hiring process would be like. After that, I went through the actual hiring process. They also mentioned there are long training programs.
- Can you share examples of your teamwork?
- Tell me about a difficult situation and your response.
- How do you deal with disagreements with colleagues?
