Behavioral Technical

It was pretty easy. I applied online and then had a phone interview where they asked some basic industry questions. They wanted to know about my face to path philosophy, my general teaching philosophy, and my prior experience. They also asked about my previous golf experience and my knowledge of the game. You should definitely brush up on your PGA teaching manual. They've also incorporated a lot of the corporate philosophy towards Stack and Tilt type mechanics, so it's a good idea to review that too, although I'm not sure if they specifically asked about S&T in the interview.

Confirmed questions7 questions
  • What do you consider your most significant strength in teaching?
  • What is your approach to the 'face to path' concept in coaching?
  • Could you elaborate on your overall coaching philosophy?

I graduated from a golf academy back in 2008 and found this role through a recruiter. I applied online and had an initial phone chat with a recruiter. After that first screening, I was interviewed by the franchise owner in Florida and also by a corporate executive for the Dallas market. They offered me the job in Dallas over the phone.

  • We need to discuss Model Golf, the 8 step swing, and one/two plane swings.
  • Stack and Tilt is very important right now, how is your knowledge of it?

The interview process was pretty easy. They asked about the ball flight laws and my teaching philosophy. I also had to give case examples of students' improvements, talk about how I'd handle challenging situations, and answer some standard questions. They also presented examples of different golf swings and asked me to diagnose flaws and explain my approach.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Can you explain the ball flight laws?
  • Tell me about your teaching philosophy.
  • Can you give examples of how you've improved students' games?
