Gold's Gym Operations Manager Interview Questions
& Process

The interview was pretty easy and straightforward. I went to the gym location I applied to for an onsite interview. I met with the Sales Manager and General Manager for about 45 minutes. They also gave me a tour of the facility. It was more chill than I thought it would be.

The GM brought me in for a 1 on 1. The process was pretty straightforward once I actually got a callback for my application. I really should've asked why the last Ops Manager left, because then I would've known they've gone through a bunch of them in just the past year. Definitely always ask why the job is open!

I applied online and they called me a few days later. They asked why I wanted to work at Gold's and what I wanted to make salary-wise (I said $35k and they seemed okay with it.) We set up an in person interview for the next week. I met with a traveling HR person. She mostly told me about the club, gave me a tour, and asked a couple questions about me. Later that day she called and wanted me to come in the next day to meet the GM of that location the next morning. So I did. It was more telling me about the club and I answered a couple questions about my management style. I got called the next day and asked to come in once more to meet with someone from corporate. I was squished in a room with him, the head of personal training, and the HR girl and the corporate guy shot me a lot of questions about my management style, again. He was a big meat head type and VERY intimidating. As I was leaving he told me the GM would be in touch either way within the next few days. I never heard a word back from them. If you're going to bring someone in for three separate interviews, at least give them the common courtesy of saying yay or nay.
