I applied for the HiWi position and heard back two weeks later. The interview was scheduled for a week after that. First, I had to give a presentation where I introduced myself. They didn't ask many technical questions. They were mostly interested in why I wanted the job. I think they also did a background check.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • They were also interested in whether I am considering writing my thesis with them in the future and why I am genuinely interested in this position.

The interview process involved two video calls, likely due to the pandemic. The first call was mainly HR-related questions. For the second round, I was given research papers to read. I had to choose which ones to focus on and then prepare a 30-minute presentation.
