First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GoEngineer.
Sales Development Representative
Started with an intro call with the recruiter, then there was a panel interview. Everyone was super nice during the interviews. The process was fast and I heard back quickly. They mentioned in-house growth and promotion opportunities. It seems like you really need direct industry experience or a referral to get an offer though.
- What's your reason for wanting to pursue sales?
- What's your understanding of our business/what we do?
- What are your key motivators?
Accounts Receivable Specialist
The interview process started with a phone call from the company recruiter. Since the role was hybrid, the first interview was conducted over the phone. An AI notetaker was used during the call, which they inform you about beforehand in the email confirmation.
- Since this is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the office, would that be an issue for you?
Software Engineer
I applied to this company as a potentially returning employee, but pulled out after one of their new developers who posted the job on social media interacted negatively and said not to. Asking whether it paid median and mentioning my previous work were apparently territorial triggers. It didn't make sense to pursue further, since salary was in question and I'd likely be working closely with someone who didn't want to. Disappointing since I have many connections there.
- Do you get paid the median salary?
- Can you tell me about your previous work?
Applications Engineer
A recruiter from HR called me, they seemed really excited about my profile. Then I had a phone screen with the hiring manager, which went smoothly. After that, I went to an onsite interview in Santa Clara that was about 3 hours long, talking with some engineers and the hiring manager. They asked me to give a 5 minute presentation about something I'm really into and also discuss my experience with some specific engineering software. Everything seemed to be going great, and both the hiring manager and recruiter gave me positive feedback, making me think I was going to get an offer. But then, out of nowhere, they just stopped responding and I never heard back, which was a really bad experience with no feedback.
- Could you put together a 5-minute presentation on something you're passionate about?
- What's your experience level with Solidworks CAD?
- And what about your experience with Simulation?
