Senior Software Engineering Manager
There were 4 rounds in total. It started with a HM screening that covered both tech and leadership aspects. Then there was a round focusing on system design and tech. The third round delved into leadership principles, people management, and execution strategy. Finally, the Bar raiser round involved a tech dive, system design, and people management.
- Can you provide a deep dive into system design?
- Describe your understanding of end-to-end systems.
- Discuss your technical expertise and grasp of technology.
Software Engineering Manager
I applied on Linkedin and heard back from HR within about a week. The initial HR screening was pretty chill, just a casual chat about my experience. Then I moved on to the hiring manager screening. Honestly, the HM didn't seem super engaged with what I was saying, and kept checking the time, trying to get me to shorten my answers. It felt like we didn't click, so I'm not worried about not working with him.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- Can we discuss some technical aspects of your work?
- Do you have any technical questions?
Engineering Manager
I had a 30 min phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I took a 2 hour HackerRank assessment that included 10 management and leadership questions and 3 coding problems. The tasks weren't super hard but felt a bit rushed due to time constraints. Afterward, I got a standard rejection email with no specific feedback on my HackerRank performance or the decision. I reached out to the recruiter for more details but got no response, which is why I'm giving a negative review.
- Can you elaborate on your experience with management and leadership?
