Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GoDaddy.
Business Analyst
It was a pretty standard process but took a bit longer than I've seen elsewhere. Started with a phone screening to go over my background, skills, and overall experience. Then I had to do a SQL assessment. After that, there was another phone interview. The next step was an onsite, where they covered my travel expenses. I met with four people that day. A bit disorganized, they actually forgot to schedule some folks, so I ended up having two more interviews via Skype a couple of days later. I got the offer about a week after that.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in GoDaddy?
- Please describe a past situation and how you handled it.
Systems Analyst
So, first there was a phone screen. Then I went in for an in-office interview. I got an email on Thursday around 5pm scheduling me for an in-person interview that Monday at 10am. No one had even called to confirm I could make it. The hiring manager knew I had to travel 4 hours to get there. I should have been given options for times and days. The in-person interview had four rounds. Some of the rounds had multiple interviewers. Candidates are responsible for travel and parking costs. It's been over a month since I interviewed and I still haven't gotten a rejection email. I thought that was pretty bad and wouldn't apply there again.
- Whiteboard word problems.
Business Analyst
I had a call with the recruiter first, then there was an SQL test. After that, I met with the hiring manager for some technical questions like Tableau and business case questions. Finally, I met with different stakeholders for business case reviews.
- Could you explain basic SQL concepts like joins and partitions?
- Do you have experience with Tableau and can you answer questions about it?
- Can you walk me through a business case scenario?
