I interviewed for a senior role and had thoughtful conversations with two team members. Unfortunately, despite multiple follow-ups, I received no response or closure. I recognize not every candidate is the right fit, but a lack of basic communication reflects poorly on candidate experience. I’m sharing this in the spirit of transparency and hope they improve their process for future applicants.

After applying, I first had to do a skills assessment that took about 45 minutes. Once I passed that, I was sent a link to complete a 30-minute pre-recorded video interview. Next, I had a 30-minute video call with the recruiter. She was really nice and made me feel comfortable. She also let me know the salary range, which was lower than I expected given how many interviews they have for what's supposed to be an entry-level role. She seemed to think I was a good candidate and set up an interview with the hiring manager. At this point, I felt like I'd already done three interviews and was nearing the end. Things were going well until the hiring manager interview. He came across as cold and made me uneasy, which made me more nervous than usual. He asked standard behavioral questions, but he had this attitude like he was way more experienced and skilled than me. He also specifically asked about gaps in my resume from before and after a summer internship, even though the dates clearly showed I was in college then. It felt like he was just trying to find reasons to disqualify me. He mentioned that if I did get selected to move on, I'd have to do another assessment, followed by a panel interview where I'd get feedback on the assessment results, and also complete another assessment live while they watched. Two days later, the recruiter emailed me to say I wasn't chosen to advance. I wasn't very impressed with how this company handled the hiring process.

Behavioral Technical

The initial prescreen interview was great and done via Zoom, although I had some technical difficulties with video. The interviewer was fine with it. The second interviewer joined 10 minutes late, was standoffish, cold, and uninviting, and gave us a hard stop. She referenced my older positions, thinking I lacked sales experience, so I had to adjust the interview to clarify my resume's timeline, which was odd. After the meeting, I was not impressed with the company, as it seemed like a toxic environment with only Gen X'ers. If offered, I probably would not have accepted.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So you start with a phone screening where they give you the lowdown on the job and the salary. Then you have your second interview with your potential supervisor, where they ask some standard customer service questions and about you. The final round is with your supervisor, the Talent Development Manager, and the Director of Client Success. It felt a bit intense but went smoothly. They were all really nice, and it took about a week between each interview. There were two "practicals." The first, which you do after the second interview and before the third, is about how you handle emails. You'll discuss it in the third interview. The second practical happens during the third interview – it's about figuring out the health benefit deduction for employees. That one was pretty stressful because it involved a lot of math, which isn't my strong suit, but it turned out okay. All in all, a smooth interview process.
