Applied via craigslist and was contacted by phone for a screening. They asked standard questions like 'What are your strengths and weaknesses?' and 'Tell me about a situation when you were overwhelmed and how did you handle it?'. Then I had an in-person interview with the HR person and the manager for quotes/product. The next round was with both owners, it was more detailed and lasted over two hours. I got an offer the next day and accepted after negotiating salary.

I found the job opening on indeed.com. The posting was pretty vague, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The role appealed to me because it needed French speakers. They were upfront about the job duties and the pay, including benefits and PTO. Even though it ended up not being the right field for me, we both agreed it wasn't a good match at the time.

The hiring process was super fast because they needed someone ASAP. I met the General Manager one day, and then the Department Manager the next day. They offered me the job the same day.

HR from the company reached out to me by phone. We had a short call about my education and past jobs. After that, I was called in for an interview at their office with the same HR person. She asked me some standard questions like 'Where do you see yourself in 5 years?' and other typical stuff. Next, I interviewed with the VP of Go West Tours. I was on time for my 10 AM appointment but was left waiting in a tiny room for over 20 minutes. The VP eventually showed up, didn't apologize for the wait, and immediately said, 'I'm a very demanding person.' It was strange to hear that from someone who kept me waiting and didn't even apologize. I felt like she was already treating me like an employee, which made me think I wouldn't enjoy working for someone who doesn't respect candidates. Although I was offered the job, I declined because of the disrespect and the unrealistic, fixed salary that didn't consider my experience, education, or skills. Everyone apparently starts at the same low salary, which hasn't changed in the three years since my interview (30K).

  • Are you flexible regarding your work arrangements?
  • What are your long-term career aspirations?
  • I am a demanding individual.
