Paralegal
Saw the job on Glassdoor, it was up for more than 30 days. Thought the process was good, fair, and the communication was great throughout. The recruitment team and hiring committee interaction was smooth. Any questions I had were answered within a day.
- What value do you bring to this organization?
Underwriting Assistant Trainee
HR contacted me about a week after I applied online. I did an online assessment, and then HR reached out again a day or two later to invite me for an interview. Three virtual interviews happened back-to-back. It was a long interview, but the interviewers made it feel short. The questions were easy and the interviewers made me feel comfortable, like we were just having a conversation. HR reached out a week later with an offer.
- Can you tell me about a time you had a conflict with a peer?
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- Do you prefer working in a small company or a large company?
Underwriter Trainee
The interview process started with an initial HR call that was pretty standard. The HR person mentioned it was just the beginning and the next interviews would be in about a month. After that, HR never got back to me. So, I emailed HR about three times over the next month to check on my status, but didn't get any response from my HR contact. It felt unprofessional, but I know this happens sometimes, especially with smaller companies. Even a quick email saying they weren't moving forward would have been appreciated.
- Can you share an example of a time when…?
Underwriter Trainee
I saw GNY hiring entry-level folks in the paper back in March and threw my hat in the ring. It took them about two months to get back to me, just to see if I was still keen, and then they invited me for an interview. So I went in, and ended up chatting with the recruiter, the person who does the training, and two VPs from the company. A few hours after I left, the recruiter shot me an email saying I pretty much got the job, just needed to clear a background check. Got the official offer about a week after that.
- Were there any particularly challenging questions during the interview?
- What kind of behavioral questions should I expect?
