I applied online and then had a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was pretty easy. They asked me general questions about my experience and my education. After that, I had an in-person interview with the whole team, which was a bit daunting because I didn't know it would be everyone, but it went well. They asked general questions.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was a positive experience. It included three interviews with the initial meeting and interview with the Director of the department. The second interview was with an internal team from cross departments. The third interview was with the rest of the department I was joining. The team members interviewing were aware of background and were well researched on my work experience, so the questions seemed thought out. The questions asked also allowed for conversations, which allowed for more personal connections. The team members I met and their openness and personal commitment to GLSEN's mission and was a deciding factor of accepting this position.

Behavioral Technical

I applied without checking Glassdoor first, but scheduled and then had my interview canceled a few times. I tried to be patient, thinking about the organization's goals and that maybe change was happening. If it is, it's likely a very long-term project. I had two interviews that felt pretty informal but did ask role-focused questions. Both times I was told I'd advance to the next stage. Then, I was ghosted, and that was even after I reached out to the interviewers. It seems like following up with candidates is low priority for them. Based on my experience and what others have said, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Submitted my application online and got a response within about a week. Then had a phone interview with the hiring manager. It was pretty standard, but they announced their sexuality upfront, which was weird since they're the communications leader and I'd expect more professionalism. They also didn't respond to my follow-up messages, which is also not great. They recently wrote about being frustrated with applicants, maybe they should read up on applicant frustrations with managers.
