I had an interview with the CEO first. Then, there were 3 more interviews with different executives. Most of the interview questions were about leadership, how I make decisions, how I handle situations, and my previous work experience.

It was a bait and switch interview. I talked with the company for over 3 weeks. They first contacted me about a Sr. QA Lead position, but I said I wasn't interested in going back to QA. A week later, the recruiter said the hiring manager changed the job to a PM/RM role, and I agreed after reviewing the description. We communicated for a couple more weeks to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager and then an in-person round. Despite multiple emails clarifying it wasn't the Sr. QA role, the interviews with the Hiring Manager, Dev Manager, and QA Lead seemed to be for the Sr. QA position. 95% of the questions were about QA testing, not Release Management. The Dev Manager asked what I love about QA, and when I questioned it, he said he didn't realize. The QA Lead was reading from the old Sr. QA role description, which I also questioned. There should have been no confusion about the role, given the numerous assurances it was a new RM/PM role. The recruiters knew I wasn't interested in QA from the start and assured me it was an RM role. I'm a strong RM/PM and would have interviewed well for the correct role, but I was ill-prepared for a QA interview. It was a waste of time for everyone. Glad I found this out early. Wish them luck.

So, I had my first chat with the recruiter over the phone, then went on to have two more phone calls with the hiring manager. After that, about a week later, I went in person to meet with the Engineering Manager, a UI Designer/Product Manager, and the Director of Engineering. Most of the questions were pretty standard. Then, a week after the in-person meeting, the recruiter emailed me to say they weren't moving forward with my application.

I sent in my resume and heard back a couple weeks later. First, I had a quick chat with a recruiter. Then, I did a technical interview with a data scientist where we talked about how to measure cell phone user response to signals and how to solve the multi-armed bandit problem. After that, I interviewed with a VP who asked more technical questions and requested I write an analysis of a public abalone dataset. I sent that in and then got a rejection email.
