& Process

The company recruiter reached out to me about this role. It was a single-day, multiple brief interview format with straightforward questions. There were no behavioral questions. The owner conducted a final interview, which was peculiar. He was soft-spoken, making it hard to understand him. He explained the job, my duties, and the offered salary, which was less than I expected. He wrote the salary on paper and gave it to his assistant. He didn't ask me any questions about my experience or the role. His odd demeanor made me realize I couldn't work there. I politely finished and sent a thank you note, but there was no further contact.

After I sent my resume, they called me for an in person interview the next week. I talked with HR, an engineering manager, an architect, and a higher-up manager. They asked me about my career goals and past experiences. The engineering manager was acting weird, rubbing his face and eyes. He also said bluntly he didn't care about my work-life balance, which I guess is honest. He confirmed that the upper management is secretive, like others mentioned. Even after hearing about their projects, I was still interested. Based on how they reacted to my experience, I figured I probably wouldn't get an offer. I followed up with an email and a voicemail after the 2 weeks they said it would take to decide, but heard nothing back. It's way worse than just getting a rejection email. The HR person has a lot of experience, so there's no excuse. I don't suggest applying to Globetrotters Engineering Corporation if you expect to be treated like a candidate.

The interview was about 2 hours long and took place in person with about 5 people, including the CEO. The questions seemed pretty standard. The pay offered was good and the people were nice, but the workers seemed stressed and unmotivated. They asked upfront if I could work overtime. I just didn't feel like it was the right fit for me given the work environment.

Had a pleasant chat with the nice manager. Met at a nearby cafe for a casual interview. We discussed motivation and working conditions. Talked about the Globetrotters training program, potential start date, and how things would proceed. Briefly introduced the company and went over the necessary qualifications.
