Digital Content Specialist
The interview process moved along pretty fast once it got going. It was about two months after I applied when things started picking up. I got an email on a Monday, then had my first interview with the hiring manager on Wednesday. The next day, Thursday, I spoke with a Giving Officer, and then on Friday, I interviewed with the Chief Growth and Communications Officer. They requested references that same Friday, and I got the offer the following Tuesday. The questions were pretty typical for my field, including some about my background in fundraising communications, plus queries about what GlobalGiving is doing well and where they could make improvements.
- In terms of digital strategy, what are GlobalGiving's strengths and areas for improvement?
- What strategies do you employ for audience development?
- Describe your approach to cross-functional collaboration.
Manager
It started with a written application that had a few questions, then a quick phone chat with the hiring manager. After that, there was a written case assignment, followed by a panel interview with the team. The last step was an interview focused on GlobalGiving values. This whole thing was quite a process, really long. For the offer part, they first gave a written 'verbal' offer, then did a background check that included checking references twice, and finally, they sent a written offer.
- They're checking how well you fit with GlobalGiving's culture and values, just as much as your skills.
Senior Associate
The interview process, though long, was well-structured and offered insight into GlobalGiving's work environment and culture. It began with a 30-minute HR interview covering core competencies. Following this was a relevant homework assignment where I had to create a client presentation deck. I appreciated their clarity on the subsequent steps and timeline. Although I didn't proceed, I was told the next stages would include a panel interview with team members to discuss the role specifics and a final interview with management to assess soft skills and overall fit. Overall, the process felt thorough, deliberate, and provided a positive impression of GlobalGiving.
- Can you share your experience in account management?
Program Manager
GlobalGiving's vetting process is pretty thorough, which shows they really want to invest in their people. It spanned 4 weeks and involved two phone interviews, a homework assignment, and an in-person interview. Even though it took a month, the whole thing was smooth, and the hiring manager stuck to her promised timeline.
- Can you tell me what GlobalGiving does?
- Describe a situation where you got feedback you didn't agree with.
- Could you give me your 30-second elevator pitch?
