The interview process involved standard interviews with leads from different departments that the applicant would collaborate with. After these interviews, the leads would convene to discuss the applicant and assess their suitability for the position.

The interview process was super organized and really effective, handled professionally. Started with phone interviews with HR and the Hiring Manager, then moved to an on-site interview. They sent over all the details needed, like directions, parking, and the schedule, beforehand. I talked with about 10 interviewers, each for about 30 minutes, who were people I'd work closely with. They all seemed really professional, mature, and passionate about their work at GBT, genuinely dedicated to helping patients who don't have many options. It felt like collaboration is a big deal there, and everyone seemed to really like the CEO.

GBT was super efficient in getting the phone interviews (with HR and the hiring manager) and the onsite interview set up. I was really thankful it wasn't one of those super long, exhausting 8-hour interviews. This one was 'only' about 4 hours, with lunch provided, and each interviewer only needed a half-hour, which was plenty of time. They followed up really fast, and we settled the salary and start date quickly. Since I was commuting from over 40 miles away, I really appreciated the interview being scheduled outside of commute hours, and the lunch was a nice touch. They also gave great directions to the building and parking, and even sent a PDF with company benefits. I started in this industry way back in 1988, and GBT's process is really the exception to the rule in every way. And yep, I got the offer and took it, but honestly, the whole interview experience just started off on the right foot.

I applied online and then the hiring manager got in touch for an initial phone screen. We got along well, so he decided to have me come onsite. The HR person seemed unfriendly and uninterested in talking with me. They also didn't communicate well, as they didn't even realize I had already spoken with the hiring manager. HR decided not to proceed with me. I really liked the company and their mission.
