First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Glaus, Pyle, Schomer, Burns & De Haven.
Engineer
It was a fast and honest interview process. The staff was really kind, and I was impressed with the building. The interview was very kind with tough but good questions. I was impressed with the jobs this company does.
- Would you be alright with the required travel to the office?
Field Inspector
The recruiter scheduled two interviews but didn't show up for either. They only tried to reschedule days later, which was a waste of my time and made the GPD name look bad to me.
- What is your soonest availability?
Water Resources Engineer
It was a really thorough and well-organized interview process. They asked questions that were spot on for the field, covering both experience and technical knowledge. No weird, out-of-the-blue questions, just the usual stuff about your work history and how you handle things. It felt like they genuinely wanted to get to know the person they're hiring, not just test their knowledge.
- Tell me about the most challenging situation you've encountered in your professional life to date.
Civil Structural Engineer
I had a phone interview first, then they flew me in for a face-to-face interview which wasn't with the same person. They asked the same question in both interviews, which I thought was weird, but maybe they wanted to give me another shot at answering it. The office vibe was great, and I liked the training they talked about. The only downsides were not getting feedback on why I didn't get the job and them not covering my flight expenses for the in-person interview, which seems pretty standard.
- What positive qualities would your friends mention about you?
