First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Glassdoor.
Sales Development Representative
After applying for the Sales Development role, I was emailed by recruitment and had an initial 20-minute phone interview with Asal about my experience and why I wanted to join Glassdoor. The call was on time and professional. I was then invited for an interview the following Friday, with all prep info sent shortly after. Caroline and Marijka outlined the interview structure, shared their backgrounds, and I discussed my experience. The questions were conversational, making it comfortable. I then did a sales scenario role-play, followed by a discussion and feedback. I received the offer the next Tuesday. It was the easiest interview process I've had, and I felt I could ask the team questions anytime.

Sales Development Representative
It began with a recruiter call, which was great. I was really enthusiastic after that chat and then had an in-person interview about a week later. During the in-person interview, I met with three awesome people who were mainly interested in getting to know me and my background. After that, I was invited for the final round, which involved a presentation I prepared about myself, my experience, and why I'd be a good fit. I presented to about eight people, including two I'd met before. They gave me time for questions, and they asked me some too. They said I'd hear back by the end of that week, but I didn't. Same thing the next week. Finally, over two weeks later, I found out I didn't get it. It felt like they were holding out for another candidate before rejecting me. I was pretty disappointed they strung me along, especially since I made two day trips for the interviews. Kind of a bummer, but maybe it wouldn't have been a good fit if they couldn't give me the respect of a timely response.
- Can you share an instance of a time you experienced failure?
- Describe your approach to selling.
- What methods do you use to maintain organization?
Sales Development Representative
They told me I lacked the drive or fire for the role. I didn't realize laid-back people don't work hard. Mid-level managers on Glassdoor seem to just want easy people they can boss around and who will agree to anything with a smile. They keep hiring overly bubbly and energetic young people for interviews, but they'll burn out and quit within a year. It also seemed like they already picked a candidate when they brought me in. Thanks for wasting my time.
- What are some typical behavioral questions you might ask?
