Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Glassdoor.
Account Executive
I had a great time interviewing for the Account Executive role at Glassdoor and I accepted the offer. The process was well-organized, quick, and considerate from beginning to end. I particularly want to thank Britney, my recruiter, who was super friendly, prompt, and open throughout. She made me feel supported and answered my questions with real concern. They clearly laid out each interview stage, and the team did a great job showing off the company culture and what the job entails. I felt more and more enthusiastic about the opportunity after each chat. Big thanks to Britney and the whole hiring team for making it such a positive candidate experience!
- What's your approach to handling a potential client's worries about negative Glassdoor reviews for their company?
Account Executive
I applied for the Account Executive position at Glassdoor. The salary offered was too low, even with the promised 'accelerators'. It was significantly below industry standards. I was disappointed because Glassdoor usually promotes transparency and fair pay. I was excited to join Glassdoor, but the compensation was a dealbreaker. I hope they reconsider their salary strategy for Account Executives. For now, I can't recommend Glassdoor if they don't value their employees' work.
- Could you describe your professional background?
Account Executive
This interview process was pretty simple and overall a good experience. It began with a recruiter phone call with Brianna who was very encouraging. Then, I had a more technical discussion with a hiring manager from another sales team. This call was friendly and focused on learning about my background, which is a little unusual, and understanding the team and role better. Following that was a "Sales Pitch" simulation involving a discovery call with a made-up client. This was more enjoyable than expected but took significant prep. The team offered useful feedback and it closely mirrors the daily tasks of the job. Lastly, I attended an onsite meeting with two senior managers and a VP of sales. They asked straightforward questions about my experience and sales methodology, and also assessed my cultural fit. The entire process spanned about four weeks, and I ultimately received an offer. Great job, Glassdoor!
