I applied for a remote job and went through 3 video interviews over about 2 weeks. The first was a 30-min HR screening to introduce me and the role, plus company info. The second was a 30-min chat with the hiring manager about the job and my experience. The third was supposed to be a panel but was actually a 1-on-1 series with 3 stakeholders back-to-back over 1.5 hours, with 30 mins for each. I stayed on one video link, and they'd join and leave. Each person covered a different part of the job. It was a bit of a marathon but easier than I thought and not a group thing. The HR team was really good at communicating via email, and everyone was open about the role and what they wanted.

Had an initial call where I was told they decided to make the position a consulting one and asked if I was okay with that. It felt like a bait and switch since the position is still listed as full-time on Glassdoor. Then they asked why I was excited to work for such a giving/caring company. When I inquired about the change from full-time to consulting, the response was simply: 'we made that decision.' I also got the impression the interviewer didn't appreciate me asking that question. I received a rejection the next day.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I sent in my application via AngelList and heard back for a phone screen about 3 weeks later. After that pretty detailed phone screen, they reached out about setting up an interview with the director. Then, about a week after that, I had an afternoon where I interviewed with 5 different people from the team. A few days post-interviews, I had one last chat with a team member who couldn't make the afternoon session. They gave me an offer by the end of that same week.

So first I had a chat with people ops, then they gave me this challenge thing to do. It wasn't coding, more about software design concepts. Once they reviewed that and I passed, I had an interview with the technical team. That was like a group/panel thing. After that, I interviewed with the Engineering Directors. If all that went well, they gave me the offer.
