It was a lean and clear process. They were flexible in setting goals and listening. The job description and requirements were very well structured. I had a conversation with the hiring manager, and then there was a panel definition.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The whole thing took about 4-5 weeks. Started with a recruiter call, then a manager call, then a call with the SMB director, and the last one was a mock sales call with the SMB director and the manager. Even though the early interviews went great, the end was super disappointing. For the last call (the mock sales one), both interviewers were 10 minutes late and didn't even say sorry. They said the recruiter would get back to me the next week. By the end of that week, I still hadn't heard anything, so I emailed for an update. The reply was just 'apologies i'll check'. Then, 5 minutes later, an automated rejection email came, and that was it from GitLab. I get that I might not have been the right fit, but I asked for feedback and got nothing. It was really disappointing to go through a 5-week, 4-interview process just to get an automated email. GitLab talks a lot about their values, like constructive feedback and transparency, but it seems like it's just talk.

The process started with a call from a senior recruiter who just explained how remote work functions, without any real screening. This was followed by an interview with the sales manager, and then a panel interview. I decided to stop the process after that because it felt like a joke.
