First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Girl Scouts USA.
Specialist
I had a long 60 minute phone screen and was contacted a few days later for an in person interview. They had me drive an hour and a half and did not offer to compensate, which I understand it is a non-profit but it would have been nice to offer a skype interview. It was a panel of 4 women. They had a hard time answering the questions I had. I was told I would hear from them in 1 - 2 weeks and never did. I reached out to them and they said they were still making a decision. Then 1.5 months later got a decline letter. I think Girl Scouts has to advertise and interview for positions even if they do not have openings in order to receive certain grants or funding.
- What is your motivation for leaving your current role?
Support Specialist
I had a zoom interview with a couple of managers. It was about half an hour long and they were nice. The questions were pretty standard for a customer service type of job.
- Tell me about your experience in support roles.
Specialist
There were four interviews: first over the phone, then a group interview, followed by a panel interview, and finally a meeting with the HR director and CEO. They also checked all of my references, ran a background check, required a drug test, and asked for school transcripts. The whole thing took about 2.5 months.
- Given a scenario, work with it and come up with a solution in three minutes.
- What is the GS Law?
- What is the Promise?
