First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gillette Children's.
Physical Therapist
I applied and got an email the next day from HR for a phone screen. It went well. Then, I had virtual interviews over three weeks with two hiring managers and two physical therapists. They all seemed to like me. Next was an in-person interview that also felt positive, and the hiring manager said I was a strong contender. I sent thank you notes after each. I followed up with HR a week after the last interview with no response. I followed up again at two and four weeks. HR finally responded saying they were finishing interviews and would contact me in two weeks. Nothing happened. I emailed HR again with no response. The job was still posted, and I was still listed as a candidate, so I emailed again. No response. Three months after applying, they closed my application without any further communication. The HR communication was disrespectful and made me feel like they don't value people's time. I won't apply to Gillette again.
- Can you share an instance where you felt overwhelmed and describe how you managed it?
Certified Pharmacy Technician
I was contacted by a recruiter after meeting at their booth at a job seminar and we communicated through email for a week, where we set up an interview. The interview was fairly simple to me as the Pharmacy manager who interviewed me first appeared friendly and welcoming to me and the questions or answers delivered. Then I went on a 30 minute tour with one of their senior technicians who was very helpful and topped the experience as a delightful one. I then returned to a group of two female pharmacists who took notes and asked me several challenging but fun questions. I connected very easily with them and they actually over-used their interview time. It was a delightful experience and I am still in shock on how I didn't get the position. They however, called later to check my references.
- What are some things your current employees would say about you?
HIM Specialist
I submitted my basic application online, uploading my resume and cover letter. The first interview was with an HR rep, and she was nice and answered all my questions, confirming the role would be a good fit for me and the organization. The second interview was with another HR rep and the two team leads. It was over an hour long and was only interview questions. We ran out of time before I could ask any questions of my own.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- How do you handle stress?
- What keeps you motivated?
Registered Nurse
The process involves meeting with HR and the department. They spend several weeks reviewing your background before you're considered. Everyone there is really nice and seems genuinely happy to be working at Gillette, with many staff members having been with the company for years.
