First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network.
Tissue Recovery Technician
I had a phone interview first with HR where I answered some questions. Then, I had an in-person interview with two managers who each asked me their own set of questions.
- How do you prioritize tasks?
- Describe a successful instance where you discovered and implemented a new method for doing something.
Tissue Recovery Technician
The interview process was very friendly and pretty standard. They asked a lot about my personal integrity and past experiences. We went over my resume and my lab experience, including the tools and techniques I've used, my computer skills, and how I've handled specific personal experiences. They also wanted to know if I was open to traveling and working at various locations around Chicago.
- What is your experience working with tissues, and what tools have you utilized in that capacity?
- Could you elaborate on your experience with working on tissues and the tools you employed?
- Tell me about your background with tissue work and the tools involved.
Coordinator
The interview process included both individual and group sessions and moved quite fast. The HR team was very responsive to any inquiries I had. A lot of the questions felt repetitive, and the behavioral ones didn't provide much context, making them tricky to answer.
- How do you manage stress?
- What are your thoughts on work/life balance?
- How would you react to a negative work atmosphere?
Driver
It was a really nice interview process. I felt super comfortable the whole time. They had me talk to a few different people from various parts of the organization, which I thought was a smart move. Even though I didn't get the job because someone else had more experience, I still have a great review for Gift of Hope.
- Can you share an instance where you had to motivate a group of people to complete a task, even when they were initially reluctant?
