First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GG + A.
Business Development Writer
I got an email response quickly after applying, which showed they needed someone urgently. The next step was a short phone call that went well. Then, they asked about my availability for an in-person interview the following week. They then scheduled the interview for the one day I said I was busy, which I figured was a mistake. I accepted, and prepared. I was interviewed by two managers, and they explained the whole process, highlighting the next step. They said they'd email me within a couple of hours with documents for two tests, but I never got anything. I sent a polite email the next morning and left a voicemail a day later, but heard nothing back. It would have been considerate to at least notify me if I wasn't selected. Instead, I'm left questioning if they used me for practice or as a joke. The interview focused a lot on how intelligent and challenged everyone is at GG+A, suggesting that intelligence alone isn't enough; you also need to be unprofessional and vindictive.
- Given that I have two master's degrees, do you think I can manage deadlines effectively?
Manager
The interview process was super fast. I applied online and got a call in a few days for a phone interview. The phone interview was to give me more info on the company and position, and to go over my background. After I said I was interested, we scheduled an in-person interview with the same person for later that week. The in-person interview was about an hour and had a lot of situational questions. After that, I met with more people from the company. This part was again about my background and more situational questions. After these last in-person interviews, I never heard back even after following up. I'm taking the lack of response as a no, but it's a bummer that companies now ghost people. The process was great until then. I thanked everyone for their time and wished the company the best, but it would have been nice to get some kind of response after three interviews. It was strange that during every interview, they asked if I had any concerns about what I had heard about the company and position. It made me wonder if it's not a good place to work or if it's a tough environment.

- Describe how you handle different types of situations.
- Are there any concerns you have about what you've learned about the company and the role?
Program Manager
I was contacted for a phone interview for a program manager role, which was good with great questions and conversation. I was excited when asked for a second interview. However, a couple of days before the interview, I found out the supervisor couldn't make it, but we could proceed. I was concerned but kept the appointment. The interview started with a chat about the department's uncertain direction. I had to ask for clarification and learned the supervisor was leaving. They mentioned the work still needed doing, but the role might change. When I asked how, they didn't know. The day's schedule also changed without prior notice. No one followed up after the interview, so I reached out a month later and learned they were changing the department's direction. While I understand staffing changes happen, the lack of communication was concerning.
- There were several questions about my experience and skills.
- There were questions about skills unrelated to the position.
Consultant
I filled out an online application with some short answer questions. After that, I had a video call with a recruiter and a junior consultant. We talked about the program, my personality, and my experience working with others. I got rejected about a week later, but they did ask me to apply for a different role at the firm.
- Can you share an instance where you leveraged data to guide a team's decision-making?
- Tell me about a situation where you had to tackle a problem using an approach you weren't familiar with.
- What draws you to the field of consulting?
