First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Getir.
Associate Product Manager
Everything went really fast. First, I had a quick 15-minute chat with HR. After that, they set up the technical interview where I met with the manager and some senior team members. Then I got my offer and started about a week and a half later. My experience might be different from others, but I think everyone has unique needs and time slots for their work responsibilities.
- Could you share about your past experiences and the projects you've worked on, particularly those related to your work at an international company?
Product Manager
I first spoke with a tech recruiter, which was a good experience. They were really attentive and nice. However, the next interview with the hiring manager (who is the Director of Engineering) was not great. They started by calling me an "aspiring product manager" even though I have nearly 2 years of experience as a PM, which they knew from my resume. They were also very arrogant and seemed to constantly try to pick apart everything I said, often getting stuck on minor details and semantics. For example, when I mentioned CI/CD pipelines, they insisted I should only say CD, arguing that CI is implied, even though CI/CD is the standard industry term. They also questioned the term "DevOps engineer," stating that DevOps is a mindset, not a role, which ignores how many companies actually structure their teams. I'm unsure if this attitude is specific to women in tech or just their general approach. After the interview, I immediately contacted the recruiter to withdraw my application. The recruiter acknowledged my feedback, mentioning that others had also raised concerns about this pedantic behavior, and that the hiring manager initially had a similar impression but eventually became more approachable. Regardless, I would not recommend this interview process.
- Can you describe what you understand the Product Manager role to be?
- What is your definition of "vision" in a product context?
- Could you share some details about your past experiences?
Product Manager
The interview process involved 5 meetings. They asked some outdated product questions, like brain-teasers, so you'd need to read an old prep book. They also asked STAR and behavioral questions. The overall experience was okay, but the recruiter barely engaged, mostly just scheduling. After about 50 hours total, HR wouldn't give feedback on the rejection, sending a generic email. It felt like they didn't read notes or care, as I had to introduce myself multiple times. My process was: 1. Recruiter: basic English and background check. 2. Lead PM: job details and listing discussion. 3. Head of Product: deeper discussion. 4. VP of Product: casual chat. 5. Teammates: This round felt misplaced at the end.
