First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Georgia Military College.
Associate Professor
It was a pretty basic set of questions. They asked about my background, goals for the next 5 to 10 years, salary expectations, and if I'm willing to work evenings and early mornings. Also asked about prior teaching experiences. Overall, it was a pretty average interview.
- What subjects could you teach?
- Tell me about your background.
- What are your goals for the next 5 to 10 years?
Teacher
The interview involved the principal, team lead, and department head. It kicked off with basic questions, then moved to my thoughts on the content area. They mentioned a decision would be made in a week. I had to follow up after that week because they didn't reply to my attempts to get an update.
- Can you describe your classroom management style?
- What are your thoughts on policies regarding retesting or late work?
Computer Technician
I applied online through the school's website, and it took about two weeks to hear back. HR called me to go over the job details and salary. I expected a one-on-one interview when I got there, but it turned into a panel interview with about four people from the IT department. They asked a mix of standard behavioral questions and some questions directly related to the job. The group seemed pretty unfriendly, except for one person who showed interest after I mentioned I was a computer science major. The others came across as unwelcoming.
- What is your process for fixing a USB device?
Administrative Assistant
The interview was with one person and was very informal, though it felt a little bit stress from the start. I was asked basic interview questions. They made me feel comfortable and at ease. The interview wasn't stressful or intimidating at all.
