First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
Intern
I had a video call interview with the intern coordinator. She was really nice and easy to talk to. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview, and she asked typical interview questions. I got the offer about a week after.
- How does this role fit with what you want to do professionally?
- What are your expectations from this internship?
Data Analyst
The manager was late for the interview, so I ended up chatting with their Lead DA for a bit. The questions they asked didn't really match the job description.
- Do you have experience with data from a homeless management system?
- Tell me about a time you helped the community, especially homeless people.
Program Consultant
I had an interview with a panel of senior management. It was just one interview round. They asked me questions about my past performance and experience, and about how I would handle challenges in the role. The panel was pretty direct, but also friendly when I asked them about the job, the company, and their own career paths.
- Can you tell me about your experience with grant reimbursement processes?
- What do you know about federal regulations?
- What are your experiences with organizational processes?
Manager
Had a teams call with a manager and director from the division. About a week later, I got a call to schedule an in-person interview. This in-person interview was conducted by three other managers in the department. Then, a week after the in-person interview, I received an email with an offer.
- Can you tell me about your past experience that aligns with the requirements mentioned in the job listing?
