The interview process wasn't very organized, largely because the company was just coming out of a Chapter 11 reorganization, leading to many new people around. The person who interviewed me was one of them and didn't seem to have well-planned questions. Some questions felt too specific for a typical interview. However, they were interested in my thoughts on the challenges of changing the organizational culture within the supply chain department. I ended up speaking with four different people individually. After the first interviewer, the others didn't really have prepared questions, so it's a good idea to come prepared with plenty of your own well-researched questions.

I applied through college. First, there was a questionnaire, and if I passed that, I was invited for an in-person interview. It was a very relaxed interview. Since we were the first interns for this department, it wasn't very structured. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The interviewer was really friendly, and it seemed like a learning experience for them too.

Since I couldn't do an in-office interview, I had a 30-minute phone call. They asked about my background and education, my goals, and what I wanted to learn from the internship. We also covered standard interview questions like strengths, weaknesses, and a time I led something.

I talked with their hr manager. They asked me some questions about my past work experience and if I could pass a background check and drug test. Before they hired me, I had to complete an offshore safety training and pass a hearing and vision screening.
