Applied and got a message the next day for an interview. The interview was set for the following week. Before the interview, I saw the job posting was removed. When I asked the recruiter, they brushed it off without a good reason. The interview itself was only about 10 minutes and felt rushed and unstructured. It didn't seem like they were really interested in my qualifications or having a real conversation. It felt like they were just interviewing to meet metrics. It was a waste of time, and I wouldn't recommend it. I have over 9 years of experience, and this was disappointing.

A pretty standard screening interview with recruitment staff was conducted. They asked questions applicable to any therapist, whether experienced or newly graduated. They were upfront about their workload expectations, which seems to be a way to filter candidates. The expectation of seeing 35 clients a week plus extra for cancellations is a lot when you consider administrative time for paperwork and the time needed to be prepared for clinical work. As a clinician, it's often necessary to prepare outside of sessions to provide quality care, and I'm concerned that startups entering the clinical space may prioritize financial gain over this. In preparing for the interview, I researched the company and found many reviews that appear to be fake, which is a significant concern for a company employing clinicians who must adhere to strict ethical codes. Remember, it's their company, but it's your license.

The recruiter was a no-show for the initial interview, which was supposed to start at a specific time. I waited on the Teams call for 15 minutes, during which I checked my email for any updates about the interview, but there was nothing. I eventually had to leave the call since the recruiter never showed up. So, I sent an email to the recruiter to let her know that I had waited for about 15 minutes and she didn't make it. Honestly, this was really unprofessional, and my time wasn't valued, which makes me less inclined to work for this company. It's upsetting that someone representing the company would act like this.

I had a quick phone call with someone on the hiring team where they told me more about the position. Then, a manager of billing called me back and set up a Zoom interview with myself, the manager, and the leader of the referrals team. After less than a 25-minute interview, I was told I'd be called later. About 3 days later, I was called back and offered a chance to shadow someone in the referrals team. I did that shadowing for about 3 hours, learning more about the day-to-day tasks, and then went home. Two days after that, I was called and sent an email with an offer letter.
