First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Geocent.
Human Resources
The interview process went fast. First, I had a quick phone chat with a recruiter about my background, and then they emailed me to set up my first actual interview. After that, I spoke with an HR Manager who asked about my experience and told me a bit about the job and Geocent's history. Then, I had a cultural interview with two other managers where we talked more about my experience and Geocent. They also seemed to want to get to know me and my background better. It felt really good connecting with each manager, and it wasn't like those super awkward, stiff interviews. They knew what they wanted, and I knew what I was looking for, so it all flowed nicely. It was a good mix of regular interview questions and just open-ended stuff to get you to talk about yourself and your personality.
- What action would you take if a coworker asked you to share confidential information you weren't permitted to disclose?
- Describe your approach to managing such a scenario.
- What would be your course of action if you made an error that impacted another person's work?
Scrum Master
It was a really professional process, straight to the point. First, they emailed to set up a time, then I had a phone screen with the recruiter. They told me about the company and the job. We talked about me being local and my background. Then we discussed salary, and since it wasn't a match, we looked into other jobs at Geocent. They said they'd send my resume to other hiring managers.
- What are your salary expectations?
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process started with an initial phone call, followed by an in-person technical interview. The office environment was pleasant, and the staff were very professional. The manager provided a brief tour upon my arrival and we discussed the benefits package.
- Can you explain what MVC is?
Windows Systems Administrator
First, I had an initial screener interview where they gave me some background on the company, info about the location, and general details about the job to see if it was a good fit. Second, a technical phone interview where I had to talk about my experience and general technical aptitude, no tricky or weird questions. Third, an in-person interview that was a mix of personality/culture questions and technical aptitude. The whole thing was easy, lots of info, and they made sure I was comfortable and a good fit for the company culture.
- Can you describe how you would approach whiteboard scenarios?
