So, I had four interviews total. The first one with the recruiter was kinda meh, like, camera off, and I kinda had to carry the whole conversation. By the end, I saw a few red flags, like them saying stuff like ‘champagne taste on a beer budget’ and expecting one person to do the work of two, which made me worry about how much work I’d actually have to do.

I had two phone calls with HR about my personality and experience in automotive industries. Then, I had one online meeting via MS TEAMS which was very useful. This meeting included two engineering leaders, and after it, I got a full view of the position. After the interview, there was a survey about my experience with Google.

After an HR screening and an online interview with the manager, I was invited for an in-person interview. The interview seemed to go well, and they said I'd hear back in a few days, but I never received a response. My calls and emails to HR went unanswered. I'm not sure if this happens often here, but the lack of feedback was really disappointing. It would be good to at least know the outcome, considering the effort candidates put in and their interest in the company.

The initial HR chat was quite welcoming, although email replies were a bit slow. Next, I spoke with the hiring manager, who was very talkative and we went over our scheduled 45-minute video call for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. He seemed really sold and mentioned a panel interview was coming up. The panel consisted of three individuals, two of whom had experience levels similar to or less than mine. Despite having very different areas of expertise, they expected me to have in-depth knowledge across all their fields. The questions they asked didn't quite align with what the hiring manager seemed to be looking for, although I managed to answer most of them.
