Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GenPsych.
Therapist
You meet with the director and maybe the team. It's a standard interview. Everyone was very welcoming. They reviewed my resume and asked about my experience with different populations. They also asked about my knowledge of different modalities. Some staff asked about my hobbies and work-life balance.
- Tell me about your experience working with adolescents.
- Could you describe your experience with various populations?
- What are your areas of expertise regarding different therapeutic modalities?
Therapist
I spoke with the program director, the two clinical coordinators, and HR. It was a pretty standard interview process overall. I got a response back really quickly. The interviews seemed pretty relaxed and not stressful.
- How do you practice self-care?
Therapist
I talked with the person in charge of the program at the site. They asked me about my experience in the field and my internship from grad school. They also asked if I could handle crisis management and use DBT curriculum.
- What is your experience level with DBT?
- Can you share your experience in this field?
- What was your most recent grad school internship like?
Community Liaison
The interview is straightforward, just answer questions and share your field experience with the interviewer. You will be asked about your desired compensation and availability for the job. I recommend saying you are flexible because this is not a 9-5 career choice.
- Do you have a book of business?
