Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Genie.
Intern
The whole thing took about 2 weeks. First, a phone screen, then a 30-minute video chat with the hiring manager. They got back to me really fast, within a week. They asked about stuff on my resume and some general behavioral questions.
- Can you describe a long-standing problem you successfully resolved?
- Could you list the tools you utilized in your past experiences as mentioned on your resume?
- In what ways do your previous experiences and acquired skills align with the requirements of this role?
Intern
I was first messaged by a recruiter to do a phone screen and then I was moved on to talk to a hiring manager who asked me about my previous experience and to describe them. Basic behavioral interview questions, was 30 minutes and just wanted to learn a bit more about my experience at previous roles.
- How would you collaborate with a team located in another country?
- Can you tell me about a challenge you've encountered?
Internship
Had a brief phone call with a few questions, but didn't get a callback. Wish they'd communicated better and asked less technical questions. It was pretty standard for a first round, though.
