First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Genesis Marketing.
Account Manager
It was a pretty straightforward process. The interviewer was really nice and made it a casual, relaxed chat. I felt good and actually enjoyed the interviews. They spread out the interviews over two days, so I felt like they got a good sense of who I am and what I'm looking for.
- Can you share an example of your leadership skills?
- Describe a situation where you had to manage something difficult and explain your actions.
- What do you know about the renewable Green Energy field?
Management Trainee
So initially it was like a normal interview but they didn't tell us it was a door to door sales job until after we were done. They asked the standard stuff like what are your strengths and weaknesses, why you think you're a good fit for the role, and what your goals are. The most stressful part was when all of us interviewing were put together to talk about the company and learn what the day-to-day responsibilities would look like.
- What are your goals?
- Why do you think you fit this position?
Human Resources
I applied online, then had a phone interview, and I ended up acing the in-person interview. I had a quick one-on-one with a manager and then had to stay for a group presentation. The manager chat was super short. They just kept asking questions, and at the group presentation, they just told us about the company and what they do. I got a call back later that day, but not for the job I applied for. I think the position offered was a sales role. Even though I didn't get the role I wanted, Genesis Marketing seems to have a great culture. I declined for a personal reason. The interviewer was really understanding about my nervousness and being a recent grad.
- Are you looking to work at Genesis Marketing short-term or long-term?
HR Administrator
I was called for a phone interview, but instead of reviewing my qualifications, they said they were near the end of the process and wanted me to come in for an in-person interview the next day. After that, I checked this site and saw some bad experiences from others and called them back. They admitted that the HR position involves a lot of "cross-training," which means field sales. They mentioned they were planning to open more offices soon, but that's just an estimate, and I got the feeling they never intended for me to do HR work. I canceled my in-person interview. It seems like this is just a sales position with a different title, and I don't understand how that's legal.
- Are you okay with doing sales training?
