First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Genesis Biotechnology Group.
Research Associate
The interview process was pretty straightforward and not too challenging. It lasted for about three hours in total. I had the chance to meet with each member of the team, and they explained their specific responsibilities within the role. Overall, it was a positive interview experience.
- Can you describe your undergraduate research experience?
Full Stack .Net Developer
The interview process involved over 5 hours of interviewing, with about 3 hours in person. They seemed to be trying to provoke me with a lot of childish, entry-level technical questions. The job they described was different from the one I applied for, and I wouldn't have applied if I knew the actual role. The offer was too low to negotiate. I used to respect the organization, but it will be years before I consider doing business with them again, even as a customer.
- Childish, entry level questions
- Questions that people learn in schooling and never use
- Very basic simple questions used every day
Account Manager
Got contacted on LinkedIn not long after applying. Had a brief 10-minute phone call with the regional manager who explained the job duties. The next day, I chatted with the district manager via FaceTime for about 15 minutes. Following that, I had a 10-minute phone screen with the VP of sales the day after. Interestingly, none of these conversations really delved into my skills; they were more focused on my thoughts about the training program. I wasn't asked about my past experience or why I believed I had the necessary qualifications. The whole process felt quite basic for a role that seems to need some level of competence and good judgment. Later, I interacted with some HR personnel, and honestly, they gave off a somewhat questionable vibe.
- What are your thoughts on going through corporate training?
- Can you tell me what you know about our company?
- Do you believe you're capable of finishing the training program?
Sales Executive
I got contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen, and the hiring manager also emailed me expressing interest. I had 3 phone interviews: with an HR Rep, the Hiring Manager, and the Hiring Manager's Supervisor. Things seemed to be going well, then I had a short FaceTime interview with the hiring manager. The next day, I got an automated email saying I wasn't chosen. I didn't get any feedback from the people I spoke with, which was really unprofessional. It made me think maybe it was a race issue since they liked me on the phone but not on video. Honestly, it's good I didn't get the job because you shouldn't treat people like that.
- Tell me about MDL and why you're a good fit for the SSE role.
