So the interview with Generation was on HireVue, I got 6 video questions. They were pretty personal asking about my background, why I want to do data analytics, and how my experience would fit. I could re-record my answers up to 5 times, it was pretty chill and made me feel more comfortable. The questions were meant to see my motivation, my journey, and my commitment.

At Generation, our interview process is broken down into three main parts. First is the Technical Interview, where we check your technical skills and knowledge for the role. You might get technical questions, problem-solving challenges, or tasks to test how good you are. Like, for an IT job, we might ask you to fix a tech problem or ask about your specialty. Second is the Behavioral Interview, focusing on your personality, how you work, and if you fit our company vibe. Expect questions asking for examples of past situations showing your teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. We want to see how you'll fit in and help the team succeed. Third is the Soft Skills Assessment, looking at your communication, adaptability, people skills, and other things that make you effective. Depending on the job, you could do role-playing, show how you work with others, or demonstrate customer service skills. Overall, Generation does a full check on your tech skills and personal traits. Be ready with examples from your past to show you're qualified and can do well.

I applied via email and got no response, so I followed up. They called out of the blue for a phone screening without scheduling, and said our salary expectations didn't match. About 5 weeks later, they emailed about an assessment. When I mentioned the previous call, they said it was 'in discussion by management.' I did the assessment anyway. I followed up 4 weeks later with no reply. They eventually contacted me saying the job was filled. The whole experience felt unprofessional, poorly planned, organized, and communicated.

Applied for Partnerships Associate but was instead considered for Grants Manager, which was fine due to relevant experience. Went through 4 interviews (3 verbal, 1 written). Experienced ghosting post-interview with no feedback despite follow-up. Found interviews repetitive, suggesting poor internal coordination. One interview was cancelled last minute, requiring rescheduling. Another was sprung on me unexpectedly the same day. Perceived a lack of clarity regarding role/candidate requirements. Questions felt overly probing, almost personal. Despite believing in the mission, the recruitment process and treatment of candidates need improvement, especially for an organization focused on employment issues.
