It was pretty easy, they hired me on the spot after reviewing my resume and asking a few questions. It's a hybrid schedule. The department head is kinda inexperienced and a micromanager, but the team is fun. Overall, it was an okay experience. I wouldn't recommend it for the long term though, and the pay isn't great.

I had a phone pre-screen, then they set up an in-person interview. I arrived and waited about 10-15 minutes. The interview was dual-stage with my potential boss and their boss, and it ran over an hour, which was longer than I expected.

It was an open house with many applicants. They weren't really looking at skills, just needed bodies for their tech positions. The interviewer didn't even look at my resume and asked really basic questions you could find online. He spent about 5 minutes with me before pushing me towards an entry-level tech role. I'm an adult with responsibilities and skills, I can't work for $10/hr. I wish they'd just said they didn't have anything for my skills instead of wasting my time on a job I didn't want. If you're into tech or want to get into it, this could be good. The tech folks seem to stick around and they offer training. I'm just not in a place to switch careers right now, and this entry-level job wouldn't support my family. If you get interviewed by someone else, maybe they'll actually take the time to see your skills and find a role to keep good people instead of pushing them out. Maybe the guy was just having an off day. Either way, interviews are a two-way street; we get a short time to assess each other, and General RV didn't make a good impression on me as an employer.
