After I applied, I got a call the next day to set up an interview. The process was pretty chill and I liked it. The first step was a phone interview, and right after that, I booked a video interview during the same call. They were really nice people, and it was easy to get through.

I applied online to Saco, Maine and got a call from HR a few days later to set up an interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager and I had a 30-minute phone call, which went well. She mentioned I wouldn't need training because of my experience and skills. She said a second interview with the supervisor would be scheduled for the following week when they returned. However, three weeks passed and I heard nothing from them, so I reached out to HR and the hiring manager. The hiring manager said the position wasn't filled and HR should have contacted me. This confused me. HR eventually told me the position was filled, which surprised me since the hiring manager didn't know. It turns out they didn't have a real job opening, and I was ghosted.

I applied for an Engineering Intern position by sending in a cover letter and resume, expressing my interest in part-time work over the summer and fall, with the potential for full-time employment after graduation in the Fall. I was then invited to an interview, which I accepted. Upon arriving, I met the engineering team and we had a good rapport, sharing laughs and conversation. However, HR interrupted, stating that I am only seeking part-time work now and full-time after graduation in the Fall, which was already clearly mentioned in my application materials. This HR action effectively ended the interview, seemingly due to a lack of attention to my submitted documents. It was quite awkward and reflected poorly on their HR processes.

I interviewed with five people for two hours and then just received a generic email two weeks later stating they chose another candidate. I tried following up with everyone I spoke to, and the initial screener, but got no response. I think my direct supervisor might have forwarded my follow-up to HR, which is probably why I got the email. For a two-hour interview with five people after two phone screenings, I expected better professionalism and courtesy. It makes me wonder about the company culture.
