First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at General Dynamics Mission Systems.
Mechanical Engineer Intern
I first talked to someone from the company at the SJSU career fair. Then they texted me to set up an interview. We set a time, and they sent a Google Calendar invite with a Skype link. During the interview, they asked about my resume and experience, and told me more about the job.
- What is the most advanced level of engineering courses you've completed?
- Did your involvement with Baja Spartan Racing include the creation of drawings?
Mechanical Engineer
The interview process was pretty smooth overall. There was just one round with two interviewers. They mostly discussed their projects and asked some behavioral questions about team environment topics. From my experience with many interviews, this one felt different; it wasn't designed to trick you, but rather just two engineers assessing if we had a shared vision.
- Which of your school classes did you like the most, and what made it your favorite?
- Could you tell me about your experience with CAD software?
- Describe a time you dealt with a conflict with a teammate on a project in a team setting.
Mechanical Engineer
The interview was about 30 minutes long and they ended it early before I could ask them any questions. The interviewers were super nice and professional. They didn't ask me any technical questions. Make sure you're ready to talk about your resume. All in all, it was a really good interview experience.
- Can you tell me about your degree project?
