The hiring and interview process was thorough and direct, with several layers of interviews conducted over a few months. While it's a lot of red tape to cut through, it's typical for a company of that size. Overall, it was a generally well-done, if not swift, experience, which is necessary for employment at a large enterprise organization.

First, I was asked some background questions about my birthplace and if I held citizenship in other countries. After that, I had an in-person interview in Ottawa with an HR person and three engineers from the test team. We covered typical questions like why I wanted to join the company and my 5-year goals. I was also asked for examples of debugging from my school days and to list two pros and one con of object-oriented programming. This first interview lasted 45 minutes. Later, I received an email for a second interview, which was a teleconference with someone from Calgary and someone from Ottawa. They asked similar questions during this second interview.
