I met with a group of engineers from different backgrounds. They asked me about my resume and my experience in specific engineering areas. It turns out they weren't truthful about something important that was in the job posting, which I found out during the interview. They tried to sweep it under the rug and continue, but I decided not to move forward.

I applied online and got a call the next day for a phone interview. When you call in, you get put into a conference room with one of the interviewers who then adds the others who will ask you questions over the phone. I talked to about 5 people from different departments like Fluids, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and Weapons/Defense Systems. They each asked me a question in turn. After they were done, it was my turn for questions, and then the call ended.

About a month after applying, I got a call from EB HR who wanted to set up an on-site interview, but they offered the choice of doing a phone interview first. It seemed a little odd that EB would invest in candidates without pre-screening, but it appears to work for them. A third-party travel agency handled my travel arrangements, including a rental car and lodging. Candidates traveling from further away likely fly, which is also covered. My interview was scheduled to start at 8 am, but I was asked to arrive earlier for a parking pass. Important note: visitors are not allowed to bring any electronic devices (computers, phones, e-readers) onto the property, so be ready to be without your phone for a few hours. After some waiting, around 9 am, I had a brief fact-checking session with an HR representative. Then, we candidates were taken on a brief tour of the shipyard and machine shop. Unfortunately, my tour guide was not very knowledgeable about the shipyard. Following the tour, I boarded an EB bus/shuttle at 10 am to cross the river to the New London engineering office. There, I met my interviewer and was escorted to their department. I met with four engineers from the team and had a complimentary lunch with a fifth engineer within the EB building. The interview concluded around 1 pm, after which I took the bus back to the initial office to return my badge. I also had to undergo fingerprinting before leaving. The interview went very well, and I was informed that HR would contact me soon. I did receive a good offer, which I accepted.
