The interview process was good. It started with an informative tour around the shipyard. Then they scheduled a lot of interviews throughout the day, which was actually nice. It's better to get it all done in one day instead of coming back for different interviews. It was one of the better interviewing processes I've been through. Things were mostly laid back, unlike other companies I've heard about or experienced.

The whole process was handled very professionally. I got a call on Tuesday asking if I wanted an interview, and we set it up for the next Monday. They covered all expenses, like the hotel, and reimbursed for mileage, tolls, food, and gas. Just a heads-up for the interview day: expect to wait a bit between arriving and the tour, and also between the tour and the actual interview. You don't need to wear boots for the tour, dress shoes with a defined heel are fine. The interview itself was pretty standard. I spoke with two different people from the same department, one after the other. They mainly went over my resume and then asked questions based on how the conversation went. If you're good at talking about your past experience, you should be alright.

I applied online and got an interview invite in March 2016. They arranged travel to CT via Amtrak from NY, and I took cabs to a hotel, keeping receipts for reimbursement. The next morning, after arriving at night, I toured the shipyard in Groton and then took a shuttle to the offices for the formal interview. I had lunch with an interviewer. Interestingly, the group lead I applied for only met me briefly, shook my hand, and then left me with two other interviewers. I was told I'd meet another person, but they cancelled that same day. I felt there were a few red flags. I was escorted back to a shuttle to Groton, given a survey about my experience and desired salary, which I completed, and then took a cab back to the train station.
