First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gemini.
Brand Marketing Manager
It started with an initial phone screen. Then, there were a bunch of interviews with different people on their marketing team. All in all, the interviews were pretty standard and not too hard to prepare for, as long as you did your homework on the company and could talk about past successes.
- Can you explain what cryptocurrency is?
- Tell me about a product launch lifecycle you managed from start to finish.
Software Engineer Intern
It was a phone screen, and they only asked behavioral questions. They wanted to know about my problem-solving, collaboration, and impact. They also advised me to be concise and highlight my key contributions, and to prepare examples demonstrating my skills and experience.
- What is your motivation for applying to Gemini?
- Could you elaborate on your personal projects?
Intern
The interview process had 3 rounds: 2 technical and 1 HR. The first round involved aggressive cows, a competitive programming question, and resume-based questions. The second round focused on the top-left view of a binary tree and binary search in a matrix. The HR round asked about college societies, reasons for joining, the mainstream nature of ML, and how to handle team conflicts.
- Could you solve the aggressive cows problem?
- Do you know a competitive programming question?
- Are there any questions based on your resume?
Software Development Engineer in Test
First off, there was this online written test with a few sections covering Aptitude, C output questions, and about 5-6 SQL queries. There was also a question about normalizing a database table and some UNIX commands. Then, Round 2 was a Group Discussion where groups of 10 were given common topics to discuss and share their views. Because it was online, we got 2-3 minutes each to speak, and at the end, they asked who wanted to conclude. After that, there were 2 more technical interview rounds.
- Can you write code to find the middle element of a linked list?
- Can you write code to detect a cycle in a linked list?
- Apart from coding, prepare for SQL queries as well, including nested queries.
