First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gem.
Sales Development Representative
The interview process at Gem was a fun experience, unlike the tedious and taxing process common at many companies. I had the privilege of speaking with many nice people, and the entire journey from the first contact to the virtual onsite was enjoyable. They maintained professionalism, provided swift updates on next steps, and I met a lot of cool people along the way. I really enjoyed my interview with Gem.

- What are your reasons for wanting to work at Gem?
Sales Development Representative
The overall interview experience was good, although ironically, I had to follow up for an update, which is exactly the kind of thing Gem's product is supposed to prevent for candidates. It's a young company that's clearly growing, and I'm excited to see their future in this unicorn space. I did question some of the interview prompts because I work at a competitor, and the AE focused on pricing and the business model rather than my qualifications. Despite that, the people who interviewed me were friendly and smart, and I appreciate their time during this process.
- Could you explain what a prime number is to a child, without using the concept of division?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process involved a recruiter screen, then a writing assignment, followed by an interview with the Hiring Manager. After passing those, I was informed there would be a two-week wait for the final round, which is a panel interview with four people: the Director of Sales, an Account Executive, a Team Lead, and the SDR Manager.
- Do you prefer winning or hate losing?
- What's your knowledge about me?
- What do you know about Gem?
