Intern
I sent in my resume online and then about two weeks later, the HR department emailed me back. After that, we had a phone interview where we talked about my background and experience. Then, I was invited to come to the office for an interview with the manager and a senior member of the team. They mainly asked questions about my resume and also some questions based on my accounting knowledge.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Intern
Applied online and it took about a month to hear back. They scheduled a phone interview, and then an in-person interview for the following week. The interview lasted 2 hours with 4 senior staff members. The questions were simple and the conversation flowed easily. I waited 3 weeks for a response. HR asked if I was looking for other jobs, and I said no, that I was being seriously considered. After another week of waiting, I emailed for an update. I got a strange, copy-pasted response saying I wasn't chosen. They said to reach out if I had questions, but my follow-up email asking a simple question has gone unanswered.
- Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Intern
The interview process included video interviews over a 3-hour period with 6 team leaders, with each interview lasting 30 minutes. These were separate interviews, which gave me a chance to see the differences between teams and where I might fit in best. The questions asked were mostly behavioral, like 'tell me about a time you led,' and personal questions such as 'why did you go to the school you went to?' and 'what experience do you have that would make you a good fit?'. My advice is to have plenty of questions ready to fill the time with conversation, and you can reuse many of them with different interviewers to gauge your interest in each team. After the interviews, the HR head asked me to rank the teams to help match me with a specific one. I was fortunate to be offered a position with my first choice and am looking forward to starting this summer.
- Could you explain your reasoning for attending your chosen university?
- Describe a situation where you took the lead on a project or team.
- In group settings, what part do you typically play?
