The interview process was straightforward, featuring many thought-provoking questions. The interviewer was friendly. There was an on-the-spot visual test during the second round, so it's crucial to be knowledgeable in your field.

It was pretty straightforward. I noticed some things from the interviewer that made me decide not to move forward. The company has been around since 2013 but still has under 100 employees (currently 83), which probably means long hours, lots of roles, and a toxic environment. They seem to lack direction and are being cheap.

I spoke with the recruiter for this position. I didn't get to the next round because of how the conversation went. The recruiter kept quizzing me about their company, even though I didn't know the business. Since this is my first job out of college, I haven't worked in this industry before. I did my best to answer based on my understanding, but the recruiter kept pushing for company-specific details. I couldn't answer because I didn't know. The recruiter then asked me what I'm seeking in my next role. I said I want a role that will train me and help me develop. The recruiter gave me feedback and said I'd move to the next round, but also gave me unsolicited advice to not mention looking for training at startups because they might not have the resources. He suggested I change my answer in the next round to sound more capable. When an interviewer doesn't like a response, it usually means I'm not a good fit. I feel like telling me to change my answers isn't helpful. It seemed like this company might be toxic and not ideal for entry-level people wanting to grow, so I decided not to proceed. I get the recruiter might have meant well, but it came across poorly.

So I interviewed with this company and I would absolutely not recommend them. To say they are unprofessional is an understatement. I had a successful first interview and received an email notifying me that I would be advancing to the next stage and speaking with a more senior staff member located in the New York office. I selected the time and date based on his availability and logged on a bit early with the provided link on the day of. After ten minutes, he had not shown up. I emailed the girl I had been corresponding with and asked her if anything had changed or if there was a need to reschedule, but received no reply. Not wanting to miss the opportunity, I logged back on and waited for ten more minutes. No one showed. I chalked it up to something coming up on their end, and reached out to inquire about rescheduling. I never heard back. Two days later, I received an email from the same coordinator I'd been emailing saying that I did not get the job. A bit confused, I replied asking if there had been a miscommunication because I had essentially been stood up by the director I was supposed to meet with. I did not so much as receive a courtesy email back letting me know the reason as to him being a no-show. Regardless of what the issue was, it was disrespectful, unprofessional, and quite frankly a waste of my time. If they operate like this in the interview stage, I'd say I dodged a pretty big bullet. There are many companies out there that can offer you what you're looking for – I'd avoid this one altogether. RUN from GeistM.
