The whole interview process went by super fast and was really smooth, and honestly, everyone I talked to was awesome. They flew me out to NYC for the final interview round. I thought I'd nailed it, but then one of the interviewers pretty much told me it wasn't a done deal as they were walking me out. And when I followed up about the job, I got an email saying the manager would be in touch about what's next. Then, I ended up getting a generic rejection email from the hiring manager, which was a bit of a surprise. It felt like the whole decision hinged on that one 4.5-hour marathon interview day I had, with barely any breaks. No hard feelings though, I'd still be interested in working there down the line, but that final outcome did leave me a little confused.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a straightforward process. There were a couple of video screens and then an in-office day in Pittsburg. No unexpected questions really. I enjoyed my time and experience with them. The team seemed invested in the company and enthusiastic about their work.

Behavioral

I went through a phone screening. They asked me general questions, but one really stood out. The interviewer wanted to know what I had been up to for the last 5 months after getting laid off. It's a really tough market for recruiters right now, so finding a job has been my main focus. I'm not sure if they were expecting me to be taking classes or learning a new language, which would cost money that I don't have right now since I'm not earning. The question just felt insensitive, unempathetic, and frankly, off-putting. After not getting the job, I received a standard no-reply email with no explanation. Overall, it was a bad interview experience.
